Met 52 EC BioInsecticide
Met 52 EC BioInsecticide
Easier mixing, needs no refrigeration & longer shelf life.
Target Pest: Root aphids, thrips, whiteflies, vine weevils, aphids, russet mites, two-spotted spider mites, broad mites, bemisia
Description: Met52 EC is a contact bioinsecticide that utilizes a pathogenic fungus for the effective control of thrips, whiteflies and vine weevil in greenhouse ornamentals, protected vegetables, and outdoor fruits and vegetables. Met52 fungal spores are suspended in an emulsifiable oil, which can be applied foliar or drenched into the soil.
Use in Biological Control: Met52 provides unique contact infection mode of action and it protects traditional chemistry from insect resistance development. The Met52 mode of action provides insect control in 3-7 days, depending on environmental conditions, temperature and contact with insect. It is an excellent option for long term insect management. There is no known resistance to Met52 thus making it a valuable tool for insecticide resistance management and IPM programs. Met52 is also compatible with IPM programs that use beneficial insects and its efficacy is considered comparable to chemical insecticides. It is designed to be applied with standard application equipment. There is only 4-hour reentry interval and 0 hour harvest interval.
For Best Results: The new Met52 has a new formula and does not need to be refrigerated. For best results, Met52 should be applied in early stages of population development and as it is a contact bioinsecticide, Met52 product efficacy in impacted by coverage and the application frequency is influenced by the environment, the manner of application (foliar or drench), the population of the target pest.
Store Met52 in its original container at room temperature in a dry, locked place, and out of direct sun light. Do not use or store near heat or open flame. Use product by the expiration date noted on the label.
Rate: For foliar application use 8-64 fl oz/ac. For soil drench use 40-80 fl oz/100 gal of water
For handling, mixing and application instructions please review the technical information sheet. Met52 EC BioInsecticide is suspended in emulsifiable oil and can be used like most conventional insecticides as a drench or foliar spray.
Met52 EC provides liquid biological resistance management for thrips, whiteflies, chinch bugs, also labeled for tick control in residential lawns. Met52 EC’s toxicological profile makes it an ideal material to use for black legged tick control in lawn areas where children will be playing.
Met52 EC is composed of spores of the insect pathogenic fungus Metarhizium anisopliae strain F52. Once the product is sprayed onto the foliage or drenched into the soil, insects that come into contact with the fungus will become infected. The spores of Metarhizium anisopliae attach to the surface of the insect, germinate and begin to grow. It will penetrate the exoskeleton of the insect and grow inside the insect, causing the insect to die. Under moderate temperatures it usually takes 3 to 7 days once the insect is exposed for death to occur.
Usage Rate: 40-80 fl oz/100 gal of water. Foliar: 8–64 fl. oz per 1 acre
